AGV 2023 Challenge - 5th GRANDE VOLTA is governed by this Regulation.

 
There will be timing in 2020!

The AGV 2023 Challenge is an ultra-challenging of mountain bike in the all-mountain style.
The challende will take place in 9 days of pedal and one day off) and we will limit to only 50 bikers.

It is a challenge of self-sufficiency, bikers should be able to solve technical problems on their own during the development stages.
May be assisted by other bikers.

Participation Conditions

​

1- For participants:

Participants must be experienced riders and be in excellent physical condition to participate in the AGV 2023 Challenge

Minimum age to enter the challende is 18 years old.

​

2- Rules:

​

All participants should read, understand and obey the "official rules and regulations" below.

​

3- Liabilities:

The organizers, sponsors, volunteers and event personnel are not responsible for any injury or damage that may occur during the
event, such as cancellations, delays or re-routing due to natural or environmental concerns.

Each participant will be required to sign a waiver upon registration, declaring that they take full responsibility for risk of injury to
themselves or their equipment and any lost or stolen items. Accident insurance is also required to enroll.

4- Withdrawal:
 

Any bike that can not continue the challenge must inform the organization by contacting the organizers during the event. At the
moment you need to withdraw from the test you should contact one of the following people:

1. Inform one of the support motorcyclists.

​

1. Call us of emergency number that is on your credential or your route map.

​

AGV 2023 Challenge will not be responsible if you just inform the other person. If you withdraw during the challenge, you have to
get to one of the people in the organization, so we can take it to our control or assistance if necessary.

5- Solo Category: All bikers will face this challenge in isolation, but will be able to join or create groups at any time.

6- ACCOMODATIONS: The hotel rooms are double. Participants may also choose to have single rooms (but should inform us about this possibility, so we can send the values).

Participants will find their belongings in a comfortable luggage distributor and after finishing their daily pedal they will be able to pick
them up and take them to their rooms.

7- Support:

Participants can bring their friends, family or technical support to the challenge. For this, the challenger must buy a companion package.

​

In case you need to purchase an additional companion food pack, you must apply with the organization.
 

8- Odometers, altimeters and GPS In AGV 2023 Challenge the 9 days of challenges, bikers must follow the markings and control
points established in the script.

The route map informs the mileage and altimetry data for each step. It is recommended that each competitor bring your GPS

.

Data may very (slightly) due to differences in personal calibration and measurement methods. We are not currently providing GPS
data for the route, but participants are welcome to use GPS units for their own purposes.

WE CAN ALTER ANY WAY WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION, MODIFYING THESE CHANGES IN KILOMETRAGE AND ALTIMETRY.

9- Maintenance of the bicycle:

The Bikers should be prepared to perform the usual maintenance and repairs your bike (i.e. changing brake pads, replacing chains,
cables, etc.).

Should any outside company provide the maintenance service (labor), we will pass on to you for free.

We recommend all participants of the AGV 2023 Challenge to bring your bike with new brake pads, check their brake fluids and suspension, their calibrated wheels, and finally a mechanically perfect bike, because the routes of the event are extremely radicals.

​

Two mechanical bikers will travel with the group of participants and may provide free technical support.

​

In the same way, in the Hotels, we will rely on independent mechanics to give a free support to solve small mechanical problems,
If the problem is more serious, there will be a charge for the service. We will provide parts for sale to bikers, always in a limited
quantity.

10- Power supply:

Included in the event package, each participant will receive two meals a day (breakfast and dinner, lunch will be paid by each participant
and we will provide you with points on the map of the event and GPS where you can do so). AGV2023 will also provide hydration
and fruit support bikes. It is recommended that you bring more food and hydration, if your consumption is greater, During the whole
journey there are bars or other points where you can also buy both.

11- Bicycle guard:

At each stage you should take your bike at night to your room. It is advisable to bring padlocks for your bike.
 

12- Transfers: The tranfers when necessary to take a participants from one place to another will be charged according to the needs of
each one and must be negotiated with the organization during the event. For those who are no longer able to continue pedaling, they
should contact the organization about the resources to be able to leave those municipalities. The "extraordinary" transfer service can
be done as long as there is space in the organization's vehicles, to a location more viable to its destination, at a rate to be informed by
the organization. This will not be included in the registration fee

13- INSURANCE: People should be in good health, experienced in mountain biking and trained. All participants are responsible for their
own accident and travel insurance. Turn off the accident case.

The AGV is an all mountain event that always passes through remote regions in various forms of difficult access to medical help. When
there is a need for medical assistance, a series of health services will be provided in the region (SUS) that will move a unit for rescue. All

14 - Numeral and credential: Each biker will have a numerals, for attachment to the bike (they must be fixed at the front and must be
visible to the Organization).
 

15- Fauts and Sanctions: There will be no time limit for the arrival of each pedal day You will not receive the Mandala portion if the
following faults occur: a) It is strictly forbidden to throw waste in the circuit. If the competitor is surprised, he will be sanctioned; if he
re-insits, he will be immediately disqualified from the competition, and must therefore leave the AGV. b) Challenger must follow the duly marked route at all times, otherwise they will receive sanctions. If it is discovered that Challenger took an alternative route, thereby
obtaining a benefit, he will not receive the part of the STRONGER Mandala that day

c) The competitors must at all times show correct behavior, no unsportsmanlike attitudes will be allowed.

d)The use of any bicycle that has mechanical or electrical elements that help the cyclist will not be allowed. e) The use of any other means motor that helps the biker in its displacement. Payment and cancellation policy
 

16-Payments: For foreigners we only offer payment by Paypal or Cash, if we have vacancies. As the athlete can participate in one or more sections, we offer the following values: Package of Full Challenge with transfer(Transfers from Rio de Janeiro’s Airport to the start and
from the finish, accommodation, breakfast, dinner, support car, mechanic and guides) USD2,600.00 Package of Challenge without transfer(accommodation, breakfast, dinner, support car, mechanic and guides) USD1,800.00
 

17- Cancellation(refounds): Refund:

Until December 31, 2022, there will be a full refund of the amount paid (30 days after).

Until February 28, 2023, there will be a loss of 20% of the total amount paid.

Until May 31, 2023, there will be a loss of 50% of the total amount paid.

From this date the participant will lose 100% of the total amount paid.

Transfer between athletes:

Until December 31, 2022 you may transfer without loss.

Until February 28, 2023 you may transfer with a loss of 20% of the total amount paid.

Until May 31, 2023 you can transfer with a loss of 50% of the total amount paid.

From this date the participant will no longer be able to transfer.

Transfer from one year to another:

Until December 31, 2022 you may transfer without loss.

Until February 28, 2023 you may transfer with a loss of 20% of the total amount paid.

Until May 31, 2023 you can transfer with a loss of 50% of the total amount paid.
